Voting Modes

Vora supports three voting modes that control who can participate in your proposals:

Whitelist Only

Only phone numbers you've pre-approved can vote

Controlled customer panels, loyalty programs

Public Voting

Anyone with a valid phone number can vote

Open community engagement, broad outreach

Badge Earner

Only members with specific NFT badges can vote

Expert panels, VIP feedback, engagement rewards

You can switch between modes in Settings > Voting.

Whitelist Only

The most restrictive mode. Only members whose phone numbers are in your voter list can participate.

Best for:

  • Board votes and internal decisions

  • Verified customer panels

  • Loyalty program members

Setup:

  1. Go to Settings → Voting

  2. Select "Whitelist Only"

  3. Add members via Members page or CSV import

Public Voting

The most open mode. Anyone can vote after verifying their phone number via OTP.

Best for:

  • Market research polls

  • Community engagement

  • Brand awareness campaigns

  • Public opinion gathering

Setup:

  1. Go to Settings → Voting

  2. Select "Public"

  3. Share your proposal link

Badge Earner (Pro Feature)

A gamification-powered mode that restricts voting to members who have earned specific NFT badges through engagement.

Best for:

  • Expert review panels

  • VIP customer feedback

  • Rewarding active community members

  • Creating exclusive voting opportunities

Setup:

  1. Create badges in Settings → Badges

  2. Go to Settings → Voting

  3. Select "Badge Earner"

  4. Choose which badges grant voting access

Proposal-Level Override

You can override your organization's default voting mode for individual proposals. This allows mixing different eligibility rules:

  • Org default: Public → Override specific proposal to Badge Earner

  • Org default: Whitelist → Override specific proposal to Public

Managing Your Member List

Navigate to Members from the sidebar to see your current voter list.

Each member entry shows:

  • Phone number (primary identifier)

  • Display name

  • Group assignment

  • XP earned (for gamification)

  • Badges earned

  • Number of votes cast

  • Date added

  • How they were added (manually or via import)

Adding Members Manually

  1. Click + Add Voter

  2. Enter the phone number (with country code, e.g., +1234567890)

  3. Enter a display name (optional)

  4. Select a group (optional)

  5. Click Add
