XP & Rewards
Experience Points (XP) are the foundation of Vora's gamification system. Members earn XP through participation in proposals and idea challenges, and accumulated XP unlocks badges that can grant special privileges like exclusive voting rights.
How XP Works
Per-Space XP Tracking
Important: XP is tracked separately for each space you participate in. When you vote in "Momentum Sports", you earn XP in that space only. When you vote in "Summit Fitness", you earn XP there separately.
This means:
Each space has its own XP balance — Your 120 XP in Space A doesn't affect your 60 XP in Space B
Badges are earned per space — Reaching 50 XP in Space A earns you a badge in Space A only
You can earn the same badge type multiple times — Bronze badge in Space A AND Bronze badge in Space B
Your profile shows both totals — Combined XP across all spaces AND a breakdown by space
Earning XP
Members earn XP when they participate in activities that have XP rewards configured:
Voting on a Proposal
Proposal creator sets XP reward
Admin when creating proposal
Submitting an Idea
Challenge creator sets XP reward
Admin when creating challenge
Winning a Challenge
Challenge prize configuration
Admin when setting up prizes
Key Point: XP rewards are defined by space administrators when creating proposals and challenges. There is no platform-wide fixed XP value — each space controls how much each activity rewards.
Configuring XP Rewards
For Proposals
When creating a proposal, you can set an XP reward for voters:
Go to Create Proposal
In the proposal settings, find XP Reward
Set the XP amount voters will earn
Publish the proposal
For Idea Challenges
When creating a challenge, you configure XP in the prize settings:
Go to Create Challenge
In Prize Configuration, set XP rewards for:
Submitting an idea
Winning the challenge
Runner-up positions
Publish the challenge
Accumulating XP
XP accumulates over time within each space and never expires:
All XP is additive (members never lose XP)
XP persists even if proposals/challenges are later removed
XP is tracked separately for each space you participate in
XP Thresholds and Badges
When your XP in a specific space reaches a badge threshold, you automatically earn that badge for that space:
Example:
You have 120 XP in Momentum Sports and 60 XP in Summit Fitness
Momentum Sports has a Bronze badge at 50 XP → You earn Bronze in Momentum Sports
Summit Fitness has a Bronze badge at 50 XP → You earn Bronze in Summit Fitness
You now have 2 badges (one per space)
Viewing XP
Your Profile Dashboard
Your profile displays XP in two ways:
Combined Stats (Header):
Total XP across all spaces
Total badges earned across all spaces
Your overall governance level
XP by Space Section: A dedicated breakdown showing each space you participate in:
Space name and logo
XP earned in that space
Current level in that space
Badges earned in that space
Progress to next level
User Menu (Context-Aware)
When you're browsing within a specific space, the user menu dropdown shows:
Your XP balance for that space only
Your level in that space
Progress to your next badge in that space
This helps you understand your standing within the community you're currently engaging with.
Member XP (Admins)
Space admins can see member engagement metrics through the dashboard and analytics features, filtered to their space.
XP and Badges Connection
Automatic Badge Awards
When your XP in a space reaches a badge's XP threshold:
System detects XP milestone for that space
Badge is automatically awarded for that space
Badge appears on your profile with the space name
NFT is minted on blockchain
Example Progression

Low effort, frequent
Important decision
15-25 XP
Encourage participation
Major strategic vote
30-50 XP
High-value engagement
Setting XP Rewards for Challenges

Setting Badge Thresholds
Align XP thresholds with realistic engagement levels based on your XP rewards:
Example: If average proposal gives 10 XP
Balancing Accessibility
Too Easy: Badges lose meaning, everyone has them quickly
Too Hard: Members give up, no motivation to participate
Just Right: Achievable with consistent engagement, still prestigious
Incentivizing Engagement
For Voters
Encourage voting by highlighting XP rewards in your proposals:
Mention XP reward in proposal description
"Vote and earn 15 XP toward your next badge!"
For Idea Submitters
Motivate idea submissions with clear rewards:
Show XP reward prominently in challenge details
Highlight bonus XP for winners
Progressive Rewards
Consider increasing XP for more important activities:
Regular polls: 10 XP
Quarterly planning: 25 XP
Annual strategy: 50 XP

Troubleshooting
XP Not Updating
XP updates may take a few seconds to reflect. If not updated after 1 minute:
Refresh the page
Check your profile directly
Contact support if issue persists
Badge Not Awarded
If you reached the threshold but didn't receive the badge:
Verify your XP in that specific space on your profile
Check that the badge is still active in that space
NFT minting may take up to 1 minute
Contact support if badge doesn't appear
No XP Earned After Voting
Check if the proposal has an XP reward configured:
Not all proposals give XP — it's set by the creator
Check the proposal details for XP reward information
XP Showing in Wrong Space
XP is always awarded to the space where you performed the action. If you voted on a proposal in Space A, the XP goes to Space A only.
