What Happens When a Proposal Closes
When a proposal closes, Vora automatically handles all post-close communication through a single, unified system - the Voter Rewards email. This ensures voters receive one clean, complete message containing everything they need: the governance outcome, their reward, and a link to the full results.

If the Proposal Has Rewards Attached
Every eligible voter receives a single reward email that serves as both the results announcement and the reward delivery. The email includes:
- Greeting - "Hi {name}, You earned a reward!"
- Proposal reference - "Thanks for voting on {proposal title}"
- Results summary - "The community chose: {winning option} ({percentage}% of votes)" (or "The proposal closed without reaching quorum" if quorum wasn't met)
- Reward card - Title, type, instructions, and claim details
- QR code (for local rewards) - Embedded inline for in-person verification
- View Full Results button - Links directly to the proposal page
- GDPR footer - Art. 21 objection notice
This single email replaces what previously required two separate messages. Voters get the complete picture in one place.
If the Proposal Has No Rewards
Voters do not receive a close email. Space followers still receive the standard "proposal closed" notification through Vora's notification system.
Note
Want every voter to hear from you at close time? Attach a reward to the proposal - even a simple "thank you" custom reward. This ensures every voter receives the unified close email with results and your custom message (via the reward's email instruction field).
Customizing the Close Message
The reward's Email Instruction field is your space for a custom admin message. When you create or edit a reward, anything you write in the Email Instruction field appears in a highlighted box within the reward email.
Use it to:
- Thank voters for participating
- Explain what happens next
- Link to a blog post, product page, or event registration
- Share your personal reaction to the results
Tip
Pro tip: Create a reusable "Thank You" reward with a custom message. Attach it to every proposal to ensure voters always receive a close email with results and your personal touch.
What Voters Receive
The Reward Email
Voters receive a styled HTML email from vora <noreply@m.voiceofthenewera.com> with:

- Results summary (winning choice + percentage)
- Reward card with details
- Custom instructions (if configured)

A plain text fallback is included for email clients that don't render HTML.
Follower Notifications
Separately from the reward email, users who follow your space receive a standard "proposal closed" notification through Vora's notification system. This is automatic and doesn't require any configuration.
