Proposal Lifecycle
Every proposal moves through these stages:
Draft --> Active --> Closed --> Executed

- Draft - Not yet published. You can edit freely.
- Active - Open for voting. Limited editing is available.
- Closed - Voting has ended. Results are finalized.
- Executed - The decision has been implemented.
- Cancelled - The proposal was voided and all votes are discarded.
How Proposals Close
A proposal transitions from Active to Closed in one of three ways, depending on its ending mode:

| Number of Votes | The target vote count is reached - closes immediately after the qualifying vote |
| Total Voting Power | The target voting power is accumulated - closes immediately after the qualifying vote |
For vote count and voting power modes, the closure is instant: the moment a vote pushes the total past the threshold, results are calculated and the proposal is marked as closed. Followers receive a notification automatically.
An admin can also close a proposal early or cancel it at any time, regardless of the ending mode.
What Happens at Close
When a proposal closes, the following happens automatically:
- Results are calculated - Vote tallies, percentages, and the winning option are finalized
- Follower notifications - Users who follow your space receive a "proposal closed" notification
- Reward distribution - If rewards are attached, eligible voters receive a unified email containing the results summary, reward details (claim code, QR code), and a View Full Results link. See What Happens When a Proposal Closes for full details.
- Blockchain certification - The results hash is certified on-chain for tamper-proof verification
- XP rewards - If bonus tokens were configured, they are distributed to voters
Note
One email, complete context. When a rewarded proposal closes, each eligible voter receives a single email that combines the governance outcome with their reward. No separate notifications - just one clean message with everything they need.
Viewing Proposals
The Proposals page shows all your proposals with filter options:
- All - View every proposal
- Active - Currently open for voting
- Closed - Voting has ended
- Executed - Decision implemented
Each proposal card shows the title, status badge, vote count, time remaining (for duration-based proposals) or progress toward the target (for vote count or voting power proposals), and proposal type.
Click on any proposal to see its full details, current vote counts per option, participation percentage, remaining progress, and a link to verify votes on the blockchain.
